I was going to use "kamahameha!" to announce the release next week of the Dragon Ball: The Complete Illustrations book I'm looking forward to.

However, not only would that be typical geekiness, I was worried I'd get bombarded with hits from people in Hawaii who don't give a crap about Dragon Ball.
Kamahameha is the name of a line of Hawaiian kings and a national holiday to commemorate "Kamehameha The Great", the unifier of Hawaii. Whether or not Kamehameha the Great vanquished his enemies by throwing energy balls at them is unknown.

This is also a word of warning to Dragon Ball fanatics.
If you find "Kamehameha Day" on the internet, don't go nuts, pack your cosplay gear, and head for Hawaii. It isn't what you think!

For those who don't know what Dragon Ball is, you are either new to the genre, or aren't really that interested in Japanese comics. It is the gold standard "shonen manga" and an absolute classic comic about a quest to find a dragon's balls and have a wish granted by the dragon - who, of course, will be extremely happy to have his balls back.

Er, something like that...

Anyway, it's August 19th.
(The book release date, not the Hawaiian holiday!)
